What is Orthotic & Prosthetic Technology?
The Orthotic & Prosthetic Technician designs, fabricates, repairs and maintains devices to provide the best possible fit, function, and appearance in consultation with the practitioner. The technician is an expert in techniques and materials used to fabricate devices and is skilled in the use of tools and machines.
Opportunities
Our graduates can go on to get a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, which opens up the door to apply to any of the Master of Science Degree in Prosthetics & Orthotics programs. The MSPO degree is the minimal degree required to become a clinical O&P practitioner.
Transfer scholarships are available for students going into our traditional undergraduate programs. For the evening and online programs students who receive their Associates in Science, Arts, or Applied Science with a 3.0 or higher may receive $1,000.00 scholarship renewable for up to two years with a 2.5 GPA.

WHAT ARE MY DEGREES, DIPLOMA, AND CERTIFICATE OPTIONS?
The catalog describes the course requirements for completing the credential. Students are required to schedule an appointment with their assigned academic advisor to ensure achievement of their academic goals.
Students must complete ORP 100 in Summer or Fall prior to program start in Spring.
This program is housed at the Lexington Leestown Campus 164 Opportunity Way.
Length of Program
You can earn an associate in applied science degree in two years if you maintain full-time status.
Students who successfully complete the program are qualified to sit for the national certification exams for orthotic and prosthetic technicians.
